Set your daily banking limits in your Capitec bank App

Modified on Wed, 26 Oct 2022 at 05:56 AM

Capitec Bank have a daily limit setting in their bank app that is intended to allow the consumer to control their payment options and limit potential fraud. This is a very important feature that we think is very useful and more importantly puts you in control over your money and how it is spent.

If you think you have already set these limits long ago - please check again. In August Capitec made some system changes and any daily limits set before August were reset to the default limit.

Before you make your 1st instalment or if you are registering a new card (for your scheduled instalment or your very 1st instalment) you will need to log in to your Capitec banking app and set your permanent daily limits.

Login to your Capitec App

Navigate to Cards and Select Update permanent limits

Set the Online/scan to pay/phone limit to an appropriate amount and then Update **It needs to be higher than your instalment.

Accept the T&C's and Confirm with your Capitec Remote PIN

All Done!

More information that is good to know:

PayJustNow does not record your bank account number, and we collect our instalments from your card and NOT a debit order¡. We don't even see your full card number or CVV number. We do this for your protection ¡¡ and it is a very efficient way that we can collect our instalments from you without any admin ¡¡¡ or fuss.

¡ This is important to know, because if your card expires or if you replace your card while you have an open active order - you will need to register your new card to make the upcoming instalments without missing a payment. We send reminders the day before every scheduled instalment so if you have time to add your new card if this ever happens to you.

¡¡This means that we can only debit your card if you have an active order and only for the amount you agreed to as an instalment (including any late fees - but we know we won't need to do that right? ?)

¡¡¡ We don't charge you and monthly fees or interest for your PayJustNow profile. To stay free for you to stretch your payments and not yourself - We need to limit the administrative overhead, and make it super easy for you to get the most out of PayJustNow!
